v0.1.0

The first release

The first public build: a media library over an embedded BitTorrent engine, playing into a real mpv window.

This is where it starts. Ventic plays torrents in a real mpv window rather than a video tag, runs the BitTorrent engine inside the app rather than beside it, and keeps your library - history, progress, favourites, watchlist - on the device you watch on. No account, no server, no telemetry.

In this build

  • Windows, Linux, macOS, Android and Android TV
  • TMDB metadata across the home, browse, search and detail screens
  • A downloads page that is the engine's own interface - file pickers, seeding, speed limits and a disk budget
  • Playback that starts on the first bytes instead of after the last one

It ships with no sources configured and suggests none, so what it can search depends entirely on the URLs you add yourself.
